WWE 2K23: The Best Custom Superstars Based on AEW Wrestlers (2024)

Despite the game being rated by the ESRB in early February, there's still no word on when exactly AEW: Fight Forever will be released. That's okay though, as thanks to the excellent Create a Wrestler tools available in WWE 2K23, fans can already get a pretty good idea of what the highly-anticipated game might look like, with many of the biggest names in the AEW already available for download in the Community Creations area.

The best custom Superstars based on AEW wrestlers are incredibly impressive, both in terms of how closely they resemble their real-world counterparts and how true to life their move sets are. Players really are spoiled for choice, with plenty of great options available for those who are looking to recreate the All Elite Wrestling roster within WWE 2K23.

Big Show

Throughout his incredible career, Big Show has won just about all there is to win, including a mind-boggling 23 Championships across the WWE and WCW. These days, he can be found strutting his stuff with AEW under his real name, Paul Wight. He doesn't fight all that often but remains incredibly popular with fans, particularly those old enough to remember the Superstar's glory days.

Bryan Danielson

After more than a decade with the WWE, Bryan Danielson signed up with AEW in late 2021. Since then, he's taken part in some incredible matches, two of which were honored at the 2022 AEW Dynamite Awards. Sadly, the Superstar is yet to win any Championships, which is a little surprising given his successful spell as Daniel Bryan with the WWE.

Chris Jericho

Another WWE Legend who made the switch to AEW, Chris Jericho needs no introduction. He's proven himself against some of the biggest names in the industry and won countless Championships over the years, including the inaugural AEW World Championship at All Out 2019. Though he doesn't appear on Dynamite as often as he once did, he played an integral role in the successful launch of the promotion and remains a legend in his own right.

CM Punk

There was once a time when CM Punk was one of the most popular WWE wrestlers alive. Not only did he become a Triple Crown Champion, but he did so in a ridiculously short amount of time, with just 203 days separating his first and third Championships. He's already lifted the AEW World Championship twice, winning two AEW Dynamite Awards in the process. With this in mind, it's no surprise to see so many CM Punk CaWs being made in WWE 2K23.

Jon Moxley

Better known by some as Dean Ambrose, Jon Moxley was one of the first big names to sign with AEW. Interestingly, however, he continued to make appearances for New Japan Pro-Wrestling even after signing, and, in February of 2020, he became the first person to hold Championships from both promotions at the same time. This was one of three occasions on which Moxley has held the AEW World Championship, the most recent of which was in late 2022.

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega is an incredibly skilled fighter, as evidenced by his long list of accomplishments. This includes winning multiple Championships with AEW, including the AEW World Championship in late 2020. Omega is also an executive vice president at All Elite Wrestling and still appears with the New Japan Pro-Wrestling promotion from time to time. In fact, at the time of writing, he's the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion; a clear sign of his immense skill in the ring.

Kris Statlander

Like the WWE, it took AEW a little while to start taking women's wrestling seriously. The promotion has a pretty solid lineup these days though, which includes former WWE Diva Kris Statlander. Sadly, a rather serious ACL injury sustained at AEW Dark in August of 2022 has kept Statlander on the sidelines for quite some time. Fans will no doubt be hoping that she recovers soon, but, until then, they can at least play as her in WWE 2K23 thanks to EnenraCAWS' fantastic creation.

Mark Henry

Mark Henry has a pretty impressive resume, having won numerous medals and Championships throughout the course of his career. He's also a WWE Hall of Famer and a former World Heavyweight Champion, for those keeping score. These days, he can be found coaching and commentating with AEW, but anyone looking to relive the Superstar's glory days can do so with the help of GRMNQuality's excellent Mark Henry CaW.

MJF

At the time of writing, MJF is the reigning AEW World Champion, having beaten Jon Moxley at Full Gear in late 2022. This wasn't the Superstar's first taste of victory with the promotion though, with MJF also winning the AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring event for four years straight between 2019 and 2022. With this in mind, it's little surprise to see people creating MJF CaWs, with the attention to detail shown in EMFcreations' effort being particularly impressive.

Toni Storm

By the age of 27, Toni Storm had already achieved more than most other wrestlers do in their entire careers, winning Championships at just about every promotion under the sun. The former NXT UK Women's Champion signed for AEW in March of 2022 and went on to win the AEW Women's World Championship just six months later. She's a born winner and a firm fan-favorite among wrestling fans.
